Terms & Conditions
1. Definitions
“Service(s)”: any dog training sessions, consultations, group classes, 1-on-1 lessons, online lessons, or other services offered.
“Client”: the person who purchases Services.
“Package”: a bundle of multiple lessons purchased in advance.
“Lesson”: a single session of training within a Service or Package.
2. Booking & Payment
Bookings are confirmed only once payment has been received in full (unless otherwise agreed in writing).
Prices are as displayed at the time of booking. Kate’s Dog School may update prices for future bookings.
Payment methods will be communicated at the time of booking.
3. Right of Withdrawal (Cooling-Off Period)
In accordance with EU and Dutch consumer law, private Clients who purchase Services online or off-premises (e.g. by phone or email) have the right to cancel their booking within 14 days of purchase (“cooling-off period”) without providing any reason.
If Services begin during the cooling-off period, the Client agrees to waive this right once the Service has been fully performed. If only part of the Service has been performed, a proportional refund may apply.
The cooling-off period does not apply to lessons scheduled and completed within 14 days of purchase if the Client specifically requested early performance.
4. Cancellation & Rescheduling of Lessons
Clients must provide at least 24 hours’ notice if they wish to cancel or reschedule a Lesson.
Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full and cannot be rescheduled or refunded.
Kate’s Dog School may cancel or reschedule a Lesson (e.g. due to illness, weather, or emergencies). In such cases, the Lesson will be rescheduled at no additional cost, or refunded if rescheduling is not possible.
5. Packages & Unused Lessons
Packages must be used within the period specified at purchase (or, if none is specified, within 6 months).
No refunds will be given for unused Lessons within a Package, except where legally required (e.g. if Kate’s Dog School cannot provide the Service).
Unused Lessons after the expiry date are forfeited.
6. Client Obligations & Dog Welfare
Clients are responsible for ensuring their dog is healthy, vaccinated, and suitable for training. Any behavioural or medical concerns must be disclosed.
Clients must follow trainer instructions, including safety rules, during all Lessons.
Kate’s Dog School accepts no liability for injury, illness, or damage caused by the Client’s dog, unless due to negligence by Kate’s Dog School.
7. Liability
Kate’s Dog School will provide Services with reasonable care and skill.
Liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant Service, except in cases of death, personal injury, or loss caused by gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
Kate’s Dog School is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses (e.g. travel costs, lost earnings).
8. Intellectual Property
All training materials (digital or physical) remain the property of Kate’s Dog School. Clients may use them for personal purposes only and may not share or reproduce them without permission.
9. Privacy & Data Protection
Personal data (name, contact details, dog information) will be collected only for providing Services and managing the Client relationship.
Data will be processed in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Dutch privacy law.
Clients may request access, correction, or deletion of their data at any time.
10. Termination
Kate’s Dog School reserves the right to suspend or terminate Services if the Client fails to pay, breaches these Terms, or behaves in a way that risks the safety of others (dogs or people).
11. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer law.
